Immersive gatherings shaped by place and time, held in shared presence.

Residencies invite participants to step out of daily rhythms and into a slower, more sustained form of company. They are designed for depth without urgency, intimacy without performance, and attention that is allowed to settle.

ON RESIDENCIES

Residencies are Glainne’s most immersive way of gathering. Hosted in carefully chosen locations, they unfold over several days and center on the simple act of being together—returning to the same people, the same table, and the same landscape again and again.

Rather than moving quickly through experiences, residencies allow space for conversations to continue, ideas to mature, and relationships to take shape without pressure. Time is not filled; it is held.

There is no expectation to arrive as a finished self, and no requirement to leave changed. What matters is presence, curiosity, and care for the shared environment.

THE SHAPE OF TIME

A residency is structured, but never rigid.

Mornings tend to be quiet and open—time for reflection, reading, walking, or rest.
Afternoons invite engagement: conversation, creative practice, shared inquiry, or simply being in one another’s company.
Evenings often gather everyone back together, most often around a table, where meals extend into conversation and conversation is allowed to linger.

There is guidance, but not choreography. Participation is encouraged, never compelled. Silence is welcome. So is laughter.

PLACE AS HOST

Residencies are rooted in place, not transported into it.

Locations are chosen for their ability to hold a group without distraction: walkable grounds, architectural coherence, and a sense of enclosure without isolation. The setting is treated as a collaborator—shaping rhythm, attention, and the tone of shared life.

Rather than offering escape, place offers context. It grounds the gathering and gives shape to the days without announcing itself.Every decision we make is shaped by a clear sense of purpose. Our journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Residencies tend to suit those who:

  • Value depth over density

  • Are comfortable with intimacy that unfolds gradually

  • Prefer shared presence to structured programming

  • Do not need to perform, impress, or be continually engaged

They may be less suitable for those seeking constant activity, clear outcomes, or a tightly scheduled experience.

WHAT REMAINS CONSTANT

Regardless of location or theme, every Glainne residency is shaped by the same commitments:

  • Curated, not crowded

  • Participation without pressure

  • Cultural rigor held with warmth

  • Consent, discretion, and care

  • A queer-centered lens, open to allies

  • Space for seriousness and joy to coexist

These are not guiding ideas. They are conditions of entry.

CURRENT RESIDENCIES

Glainne residencies are offered selectively and announced by chapter.

Current and forthcoming residencies may be open, forthcoming, or by invitation. Details are shared gradually and with care, allowing space for consideration rather than urgency.

We believe in simple ideas, strong relationships, and lasting impact. What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead.
